Helicon Arts’ singing holidays offer a fulfilling, creative experience in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Our popular choral courses run annually with esteemed course directors Neil Ferris (Sacred Choral) and Mary King (Secular Choral). A healthy combination of music, delicious food and wine and an active social schedule will guarantee a memorable holiday.
The aim of the course is to raise choral singing skills – rehearsals focus on vocal technique, and through the sessions we work on aspects of tone, blending, breathing, intonation, as well as musical interpretation. At the end of the week we give a concert in a local venue.
Repertoire is wide-ranging, and all of the music is made available to singers in advance of the course. A rehearsal is held in central London where we sing through some of the music and meet each other.
As well as a rewarding singing experience, there will always be opportunities to explore our surroundings. During the week, excursions are planned alongside the musical schedule. These range from visits to UNESCO World Heritage towns to wine tastings and guided tours. But don’t worry, there is always a pool if you’d rather relax and unwind!
